Irene is coming and we're hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Stevenson has already cancelled opening-day classes on Monday; let's hope that's the extent of the disruption. As for losing power, we've got our fingers crossed, but also have an arsenal of lanterns, flashlights, and such at the ready. If you have to deal with this, good luck and be careful!

ReplyDeleteSame to you and Nicky! (And anyone else in the storm's path!)
We're expected to feel it the hardest later today. Flashlight, loaded with an almost-new battery, is at the ready (and a backup battery is on-hand, too)...and all comics and books are moved away from the windows, just in case the wind gets that strong. And I'm bunkered down in a closet!

ReplyDeleteNow, THERE’S a man who knows his priorities! Careful of those DVDs, as well!
Good luck to ALL of you! Looks like we came through okay!
Joe and Ryan,
ReplyDeleteNicky and I paid particular attention to the basement... by sheer coincidence, that's where most of my old comics and all of our DVDs are stored. There was a little leakage, but nowhere near the comics/DVD area.

They were already on closet shelves, so didn't need to be moved. ;)
Looks like all of us -- as well as our collections of media in select formats -- are okay. *phew*!
